“A small key opens big doors.”
— Turkish Proverb
or
..."A small horse at a big door, demands hay?"
— Black Squirrel Ranch farmhand
This little mini senior citizen horse has an entire barn to herself. Does anyone else think that's excessive? Gretel's barn was designed for draft horses with feeder stalls too tall for her to eat from. Six stalls -- one of which has been turned into a goat nursery (in anticipation) and the horse barely walks into the building--she would prefer to stand in the weather. So I gave her a shower, and that is why she's shyly peeping into the barn at this moment...to see what I come at her with next.

Deer for Breakfast
You wish! This sweet little doe showed up outside the living room window - also known as the temporary garden windowsill - to have a little breakfast, while I was drinking coffee. There was a gray squirrel chasing a black squirrel, but trying to catch a snapshot of those fast movers is near impossible.
This fancy snapshot was taken from my living room couch, through two rows
of Lemon Cucumbers, and a deck railing...talk about amateur photography!
